NO Boring! Copy Spotify Songs to USB for Playing in the Car with 2 Steps

When most people get in their car, the first thing they do is turn up the volume and start listening to music, mostly Spotify tracks. People who don’t have Bluetooth frequently ask “Is there any way to play Spotify through USB in a car?” “How do I transfer music from Spotify to a USB drive?” After all, without music, the journey becomes quite tedious.

People’s demand to copy Spotify music to USB flash drive varies. Some people want to free up space on their device or computer, while others prefer to listen to Spotify songs offline wherever and whenever they want. You’ve come to the right place if you’re in a similar situation. In this article, you’ll learn how to put Spotify songs or playlists on USB flash drive in simple steps.

Spotify Music to USB: What you Should Know

Transferring music from Spotify to USB is much more difficult than transferring a file from computer to USB. Here we explain why you can’t put Spotify songs to USB flash drive directly and tell you how to fix it.

❓ Why can’t I move Spotify downloads to USB?

If you are a Spotify Premium, you could save the Spotify songs on your computer for offline playback. The default path is: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage. But these Spotify songs can’t be transferred to any device to play other than Spotify app. Because they are only the cache files, not the real songs.

Spotify is like renting music online. All the tracks in the Spotify server are restricted by DRM technology and encoded in a special OGG Vorbis format. So, you are able to download and play Spotify songs offline, but in Spotify app only. The car/MP3 player/Walkman and other devices can’t play it.

❓ How to solve? Any tool?

Fortunately, there are tricks to download music from Spotify onto a USB stick. Either by recording the Spotify songs, or converting Spotify playlists to MP3, you could save the Spotify music as plain MP3 without DRM restriction. Thus you can copy Spotify playlists to USB stick. Here introduces Sidify’s Spotify music converter, which is one of the best Spotify to MP3 converters, to help you make it through. There are two steps in total.
